10 Ways to Make Extra Money When You Need It.

Everything is getting expensive. We are all seeing prices soar from food to utilities, interest rates to gas. It's out of control. So what do we do? Find ways to cut back, of course. But what if you don't want to? What if just a little more money a month could make all the difference? It's time to be creative, pull up all the stops. There are several things we all can do.

1) SELL AT THE FLEA MARKET - gather up all your gently worn shoes and clothes, clean out the garage, realize you don't need all those knick knacks and pots and pans anymore. Pack it all up, get up early and go to your local flea market. I have made $300 in one day doing this and I really don't miss the clutter.

2) SELL STUFF ON EBAY - same as above but you make your own hours. Research your items first - see what sells, what kind of price you can get for an item. I make a couple of hundred dollars a month on Ebay - not much but it pays the electric bill.

3) CHECK OUT ETSY.COM - if you are a craft person, etsy.com is a great venue for homemade items. From jewelry, to clothing, to candles - if you can make it, you can sell it.

4) TRY BONANZLE - if Ebay seems too crowded to you, you might try bonanzle.com. They particularly like unique items and are easy to navigate. A great place for grandma's doilies, etc.

5) ELDER CARE - it doesn't pay a lot but there is large demand. You can go through an agency or run an ad. It doesn't take a degree or skill, just compassion and friendliness. You may go shopping or to doctor's appointments. It is a rewarding way to make extra money.

6) BECOME A FREELANCE WRITER - many companies are looking for individuals to write revues, answer questions, particpate on forums.

7) CRAIG'S LIST - a great place online to sell larger items. This site caters to individual cities. So get rid of that old clunker once and for all.

8) BABYSIT OR PETSIT - it's paying much better these days. Run an ad, let friends and aquaintances know you are available.

9) ANSWER PHONES FROM HOME - again there are companies out there looking for folks to answer phones for them. A great place to look for these jobs is at ratracerebellion.com.

10) HOME PARTIES - that's right, it's not just Tupperware anymore. Again, the internet is your greatest source for these companies. Just google home party businesses. Some will require a small investment but some are free.
